The San Francisco Giants shutout the Chicago Cubs for the 2nd game in a row today. Mike McCormick pitched a beauty in the Giants 2-0 Win. The victory also allowed SF to tie Chicago at the top of the NL Standings. The Giants have been hot lately going 9-1 in their last 10 games.

Mike McCormick hurled a fine complete game shutout as the blistering-hot San
Francisco Giants defeated the Chicago Cubs by a score of 2 to 0 at
Candlestick Park.
McCormick(15-12) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He didn't give up
much, just 6 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings. Chicago threatened in the 9th
but San Francisco was able to put down the rally.
Rich Nye(17-7) was tagged with the loss. He surrendered 6 hits and 3 walks in
7 innings. With the win, San Francisco continued their winning ways; their
streak now stands at 7 games and counting.
