1967 AL Game: Bsn. @ Det.

 September 18, 1967

The Boston Red Sox came into Detroit today for 2 games against the 1st place Tigers. It would be the last time the two teams would meet in the regular season. The Red Sox have a 9-7 record this year against Detroit, the only AL club with a winning record against them, but trail in the standings by 6 games.
The game proved to be a real battle between the teams with the lead changing 5 times.  Boston tied the game 3-3 in the 9th inning then won it with a run in the 10th. The victory moves the Red Sox within 5 games of the Tigers. With time running out for Boston, tomorrow's game is huge for any chance of overtaking Detroit.
