The Baltimore Orioles and Minnesota Twins played a slugfest today with the Twins coming out ahead 14-13 in 10 innings. It was the most runs scored by 2 teams in a game in the AL this season. The Orioles out-hit the Twins 20-18 and those 38 combined hits were also the most by 2 teams this year.
Tony Oliva and Ceasar Tovar led the Twins attack. Despite all the hitting and scoring, the decisive run was scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th inning.

Tony Oliva had 4 hits and 4 RBI at Metropolitan Stadium as the Minnesota Twins
beat the Baltimore Orioles in 10 innings 14 to 13.
The score was tied at 13 after nine. Minnesota won the hard fought contest in
the 10th inning. Cesar Tovar lined a one-base hit. Oliva stepped into the
batter's box and he ripped a base-knock. Oliva took second on the throw.
Two outs later Rod Carew came to the plate and was walked intentionally to
load the bases. Moe Drabowsky then threw a wild pitch making Minnesota
victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Minnesota managed 18
hits in their victory.
Jim Ollom(3-2) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the victory.
Drabowsky(2-2) was tagged with the loss in relief.
