August 20, 1967
In the first game I've played since my 2+ month hospital stay that began August 9th, my Detroit Tigers had a very fun time defeating the Cleveland Indians 5-4. It was the 2nd game of a doubleheader against the Indians so the lineups were a bit different than 'normal'. Rookie pitcher John Hiller got his 1st start of the season and light-hitting Dick Tracewski got a start at 3rd Base. Hiller had a solid outing and Tracewski was the star of the game for Detroit. Dick hit his 2nd homerun of the season, a 2-run shot in the 6th giving the Tigers a 4-3 lead, then tripled in the game winning run in the 8th after Cleveland had tied it up 4-4.
A very fun game to play after the long layoff. A 5-4 Detroit Tiger victory!
