1967 AL Game Cal. @ Bsn.

 August 20, 1967

    Cal Yastrzemski had 6 RBI in today's game while Boston defeated California 9-1. Yaz was 4 for 5 with 2 homeruns in the game. Tha 6 RBI ties him with most in a game this season in the AL.

Carl Yastrzemski cracked 2 homeruns at Fenway Park as the Boston Red Sox beat
the California Angels by the count of 9 to 1.
 
Yastrzemski punished California with his bat.  He lined a one-base hit scoring
a run in the 1st inning, lined a single in the 3rd inning, launched a Grand
Slam homerun in the 4th inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 8th
inning.  Boston ended up with 13 hits for the game while California had 7.
 
The win was credited to Lee Stange(11-7) who went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 1
run. George Brunet(14-9) was the loser.  Boston knocked him around a bit, as
he gave up 8 runs in 3 innings.  
 
Wth the win Boston now has a record of 68-51.  With the loss, the California
ballclub's record is 57-64.
