1967 AL Standings

 August 1, 1967

  My Detroit Tigers hold 1st place in the AL as the calendar turns to August. The Kansas City A's continue to impress and have moved into 2nd place, 2.5 Games Behind Detroit. The 3rd place Boston Red Sox began to make their move up last month going 17-12. The Cleveland Indians had the best record in July (21-8) and moved up to 5th place. Minnesota slipped a bit (14-16) but are still very much a factor in the pennant race. The biggest disappointment has to be the Chicago White Sox. They're 14 games worse than their actual at this point in the season all because of their dreadful offense. Even though they have the best pitching in the AL, it hasn't been enough to overcome their lack of scoring.
