Sonny Siebert(13-7) was on top of his game in Cleveland as he tossed a beauty
of a no-hitter against the Chicago White Sox. The Cleveland Indians won by a
score of 1 to 0.
The partisan crowd cheered every Chicago out from the 7th inning on. He
walked 2 Chicago batters. The tension built to a fever pitch. After the 8th
inning everybody in the ballpark was anticipating what would happen in the
9th. Cleveland managed only 4 hits on the afternoon.
The losing pitcher was Joe Horlen(13-14). He surrendered just 4 hits and 1
walk in 8 innings. 'Siebert made us look bad' Eddie Stanky said. 'I've seen
a lot of good performances in my time and this one will be tucked away in my
memory bank for a long time to come'
