1967 AL Game: Det. @ Bsn.

 August 16, 1967

In the 2nd game of the 3 game series between the Detroit Tigers and the Boston Red Sox the Tigers came from behind to win the contest 6-4. Boston took an early 3-0 lead thanks in part to Denny McLain's wildness and a couple of rare passed balls by Bill Freehan. Detroit rallied for 4 runs in the 7th inning for a 4-3 lead before Boston tied it with a run in the bottom of the 7th. Then in the 9th, Freehan clobbered a Sparky Lyle fastball for a 2-run homer and a 6-4 Tiger victory. Detroit increased their lead over 2nd place Boston back to 2.5 games with the Win. Game 3 tomorrow will feature Jim Lonborg (15-7) against Earl Wilson (13-9).
