Fergie Jenkins became the 2nd 10 game Winner in the NL as the Chicago Cubs defeated the Houston Astros today 9-4. It was a 3-3 tie before Chicago tallied 3 runs in the 7th and added 3 more in the 8th. It was a decent performance for the right-hander who went the distance while gaining the victory for the 1st place Cubs.

Fergie Jenkins tossed a complete game as the Chicago Cubs outscored the
Houston Astros 9 to 4.
Chicago jumped on top of Houston in the bottom of the 7th inning when they
scored 3 runs on 2 hits. The key at-bat was by Billy Williams who brought
the crowd to their feet when he doubled which was good for two runs. Chicago
managed 10 hits in their victory.
Jenkins(10-6) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 4 runs. The losing
pitcher was Mike Cuellar(8-4). He surrendered 6 runs and 6 hits in 7
innings.
