1967 AL Game: NY @ Was

 April 10, 1967

The 1967 AL MLB season got underway today with the Opening Day game in Washington D.C. The visiting New York Yankees scored a run in the top of the 1st for a 1-0 lead, but that was all they'd be able to tally against the Senator's starter Pete Richert. Washington tied the game in the bottom of the 4th, then went ahead 2-1 in the 6th before blowing the game wide open in the 7th when they scored 8 runs. Ken McMullen was 3 for 4 with a homerun and 3 RBI for the home team. Richert went the distance for the Win. Mel Stottlemyre took the loss for NY.
